Understanding how to take your seat of authority in God’s kingdom – Part 1

You are listening to:Understanding how to take your seat of authority in God’s kingdom – Part 1

Theme Scriptures: Matthew 18:18-20 (KJV)

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven (Kingdom) and on earth. 19 Go [a]therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” [b]Amen.

We want to focus on two WORDS here.

  1. Authority
  2. Kingdom

The word “authority” is the Greek word exusia, which means delegated authority. God has given you and I authority to transact business on His behalf on the earth. We must take this authority and put it to work in our communities, cities and the nations at large through our prayer life.

The word “kingdom” in Greek is “Basileia” which means; Sovereignty, Royal Power, or Dominion – The realm, territory or a region in which a king rule.

You are the captain of your ship. You have control over your own life – your spirit, your soul, and your body. Jesus has already delegated power (authority) over Satan to you as a Born-Again believer. The Bible says that you are to give the devil no place in your life. (Ephesians 4:27). You are born of the Spirit of God, you are filled with the Spirit of God and you have been given the Word of God.

Those three elements alone are enough for you to carry out your spiritual authority here in the earth. You don’t need any more power. You have all the power necessary. You simply have to exercise your authority. Jesus has already done everything necessary to secure the authority and power over sin, sickness, demons, and fear. You have to employ the faith action to receive that authority and join forces with Him in this earth. You are the one to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. What storm is facing you today? Speak to it and tell it to calm in Jesus’ Name. Take your seat of authority and don’t let the devil sit on it anymore in Jesus’ name!

The Kingdom of God must be taken by force

Matthew 11:12 declares; “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.”

In Genesis 1:26; God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.”

The first territory or place of God’s rule and dominion begins in the heart of the believer. Which means, God’s first priority is to rule through you.

Based on Mark 16:15 and Matthew chapter 18, verses 18,19 and 20, I personally believe every believer is called to operate beyond the doors of a local church. Unfortunately, many are bound to think that only evangelists are called to operate outside the local church.

Why?

There are two main mindsets of believers today:

1) Those with a church mindset.

2) Those with a kingdom mindset.

Church minded people are those who believe that their area of influence is subjected in the local church. A kingdom minded person or a person with a kingdom mindset however though expands his or her vision beyond the walls of a local church into the world and even to a generation beyond. If

you’re going to exercise kingdom authority outside the walls of your local church, you must understand how the kingdom operates.

Kingdom authority operates by two main principles

Principle # 1:

This is found in Mark 4 and verses 10-11 “But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. 11 And He said to them, “To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables.”

A mystery is only received through revelation. Revelation comes from spending time in the presence of God. Listen to the words of Apostle Paul in Colossians 1: 24-26, “I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church, of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints.”
